Creating Space For The Kingdom to Grow
This is what the Kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces corn – first the stalk, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. As soon as the corn is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.’
Mark 4:26-29
The Upside-down Kingdom
Join us between now and Easter as we discover Jesus’ upside-down Kingdom through a guided reading of Mark!
Brad and Jamie have spent more than twenty years walking alongside teenagers and families, helping them discover the quiet, grace-filled work of God in everyday life. From their early years in Young Life to serving in local churches in Asheboro, Durham, and now Charlotte, their ministry has always been rooted in presence, hospitality, and deep relational investment. Growing Seed Ministries is the fruit of that long journey—an invitation to slow down, create space, and trust God with the growth.
Who we are
What we do
Growing Seed Ministries exists to walk alongside young families and teenagers as they navigate faith, culture, and the pressures of everyday life. After more than twenty years in youth ministry, we’ve seen firsthand the quiet ways God works in people’s lives—often slowly, often unseen, but always faithfully. We offer discipleship, mentoring, retreats, and a ministry of hospitality rooted in Jesus’ parable of the Growing Seed: once the seed is planted, God Himself brings the growth. Our desire is simple: create space for the gospel to take root, provide presence and encouragement when life feels overwhelming, and trust the Spirit to do what only He can.
-
We walk alongside teenagers and families with intentional, relational discipleship shaped by Scripture and the quiet work of the Spirit. Through conversation, mentoring, and shared life, we help people recognize the gospel already taking root and growing in their everyday rhythms.
-
One of the greatest gifts we offer is presence and flexibility. In a world where everyone feels busy and overcommitted, we create margin to say yes—to show up when families need encouragement, guidance, or someone who will listen without rushing.
-
Our home is one of our favorite ministry tools. Whether around a table, over a meal, or in unhurried conversation, we make space for people to breathe, rest, and feel seen.
-
Soon we will be offering retreats and teaching weekends rooted in the Gospel of Mark and the parables—opportunities for families and groups to slow down and experience the quiet, transforming work of God. These aren’t high-pressure conferences; they’re spaces of rest, reflection, and renewal.
